She was born and reared in Clarendon, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Earnest and Bertie Castleberry Worden. She graduated from high school in Clarendon and in 1967 married James M. "Jim" Smith. Read More	Marilyn Earnestine Worden Smith, 71, died Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was born and reared in Clarendon, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Earnest and Bertie Castleberry Worden. She graduated from high school in Clarendon and in 1967 married James M. "Jim" Smith. While living in Lafayette, LA, she worked for KATC Channel 3 television and while living in Memphis, she was executive secretary to the president of the Downtowner Hotel Corporation. They made their home in Jackson the past 22 years and she worked with her husband, Jim, as he was Director of Food Services at Lambuth University. She had also worked at Jackson Insurance Agency and for the past 12 years as office manager for Hall Insurance Agency. She is survived by two sons, Brian and Kevin Smith, both of Jackson; a brother, Bruce Worden of Memphis, and a sister, Frances Clark of Searcy, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Smith in 2006, and a brother Jerry Worden. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors-Casey Chapel with Ricky Telford officiating and burial will follow in Sweetlips Cemetery.
