Description	:	Marion L. "Red" Crossley, 93, of 1400 Maxhelen Blvd., Waterloo, formerly of Ottumwa, died March 31, 2009, at his home. He was born Nov. 7, 1915, in Rockport, Mo., to Grover C. and Verne Rossean Crossley. He married Martha Potter Aug. 12, 1943, in Champaign, Ill. She preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 2005. He was born Nov. 7, 1915, in Rockport, Mo., to Grover C. and Verne Rossean Crossley. He married Martha Potter Aug. 12, 1943, in Champaign, Ill. She preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 2005. A graduate of Ottumwa High School, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works for 35 years, retiring as a supervisor on Feb. 6, 1981. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder; he was a member of Ottumwa Masonic Lodge #16 A.F. and A.M., Davenport Consistory and KAABA Shrine. He also was a member of O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and B.P.O. Elks Lodge #347. Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Trudy Crossley of Mason City; three granddaughters, Jody (Cody) Lewis of Pfluggerville, Texas, Alissa (Clifford) Sexton of Mason City and Amanda (Andy) Schneider of Monmouth, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Hannah Lewis and Rylee Sexton; three sisters, Frances Truman and Edna Madsen both of Cedar Falls, Priscilla Cagley of Waterloo; 16 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Crossley; two sisters, Louis Jarvis and Mary Bremhorst. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Neal Allen officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery with military services by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
