Description	:	Mattie Jane Randels Eickmann, the daughter of Andrew and Lucinda Randels, was born on January 4, 1886, in Republic County, Kansas. As a child she attended the Excelsior School and later was a nurses aide in many of the homes of her community. She was active in the United Brethern Church which met in the Excelsior School. She passed away March 22, 1960,... Read More	Mattie Jane Randels Eickmann, the daughter of Andrew and Lucinda Randels, was born on January 4, 1886, in Republic County, Kansas. As a child she attended the Excelsior School and later was a nurses aide in many of the homes of her community. She was active in the United Brethern Church which met in the Excelsior School. On January 1, 1908, she was united in marriage to Louis Eickmann. To this union were born four children: Eathel, Mervin, Wilda and Erskine. Mrs. Eickmann lived her entire life in this community. She passed away March 22, 1960, at Narka, Kans., at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 18 days. She was preceded in death by her son, Mervin, her parents, three brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her husband, Louis; two daughters, Mrs. Eathel Peters of Cuba, Kans., and Mrs. Wilda Novotny of Narka, Kans.; one son, Erskine of Chester; two grandsons, Eugene Peters and Steven Eickmann; two granddaughters, Clarice Peters and Mary Eickmann; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Spafford of Ft. Morgan, Colo., and Mrs. Ada Hussey of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Charlie Randels of Ft. Morgan, Colo.; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 24, from the Chester Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Duane Hutchinson. Mrs. Glen Chaloupka sang, accompanied by Mrs. Sylvan Poet. Casket bearers were Wilbur Eickmann, Glen Eickmann, Frank Larkins, Fred Thompson, Andrew Spafford and Lloyd Spafford. Interment was made in the Chester cemetery (sic), Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Home in charge.
