Cornelison was held at Reserve Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Walter E. Myers, of Everest, in charge. Large number of friends were present to bid farewell to one who had lived a long time in this community, being only daughter of late Wallace, Caroline Cornelison, who were among the first of pioneers to establish a home in this section of Kansas. Miss Cornelison, known to everyone here as Linnie, was born April 24, 1874 in little log cabin which yet stands, is in good condition. She was constant companion, nurse for her mother in her last sickness. After death of her mother, April 24, 1924, she was left alone in old home where she preferred to stay. She has been in failing health for several years, spent some time last fall in Falls City hospital for treatment for a heart ailment. She was stricken with a heart attack last Monday night, never recovered, passing away Thursday morning, Sept. 9, at 5:30. She is survived by 2 brothers, Tom, of Reserve, Kans., Ben, of Seattle, Wash., who was on his way here for a visit, arriving a few hours before her death, in time for her to recognize him. She became a member of Reserve Christian church Nov. 2, 1931, was a liberal supporter of her church. She was a quiet, retiring nature, kind, sympathetic, will be greatly missed in this community. Mrs. Ed Watkins, Miss Ellen Dittemore, accompanied by Mrs. G. A. Hall, sang "City Four Square," "Somewhere Sun Is Shining," "Sweet Peace Gift of Gods Love," her favorite hymn. Those in charge of flowers were Mrs. Wm. Dittemore, Mrs. J. S. Gillispie, Mrs. Cora Bundy, Miss Anna Stewart. Body bearers were J. S. Gillispie, Miles Grove, John Miner, Ray Jimeson, A. E. Bowersox, G. A. Hall. She was laid to rest in Cornelison cemetery over-looking spot she loved so well. Mr. Mrs. Ben Cornelison had been visiting her relatives in Ida Grove, Iowa, attending wedding of niece, Mr. Cornelison coming on here to see home folks, while she remained for a longer visit, but on receipt of death message came to Reserve immediately. Other relatives who came to attend funeral were Mrs. Mrs. Elsworth Swaim, of Chillicothe, Mo.; Mr. Mrs. John Shunk, Jesse Shunk, of Fillmore, Mo.; Lorenzo Burdick, Jake Fixley, of Hiawatha, Kans.; Paul Burdick, of Falls City, Nebr. —The Hiawatha Daily World (Hiawatha, KS) Thur.
