This date appears to belong to a child named Ann Shea who was born on February 28, 1878 to a stone mason named Michael Shea, age 38, and his wife, age 38, maiden name Sullivan, both born in Ireland. This date appears to belong to a child named Ann Shea who was born on February 28, 1878 to a stone mason named Michael Shea, age 38, and his wife, age 38, maiden name Sullivan, both born in Ireland. She is listed as their third child. This "Ann" does not appear in any other records and may actually be Mary. Mame was a servant in 1900 and had no occupation in 1910 but was caring for the household and family at 472 Boswell Ave. which consisted of her parents, three brothers, a sister, a sister-in-law and a nephew. In 1920, after her parents’ deaths, she is listed as head of the household which included two brothers, two sisters and a nephew. In 1930 she lived at 472 Boswell Ave. with her sisters and one of her brothers along with her brother-in-law and niece. Asked at the age of 92 to recall what her aunt Mame was like, her niece Mary said, “Her name was Mary but everyone called her Mame (may-mee). She was just always in the kitchen doing kitchen things.” Asked if Mame was the boss who assigned everyone their tasks. Mary said that no one was in charge, that - at least from the time that she could remember as a child - everyone chose to do whatever they did best and it was a congenial household. Mame remained unmarried, lived at 472 Boswell Avenue until her death and died at home on March 19, 1938. She is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery with her parents.
