Schreiber, in Topeka. She was born January 23, 1868, in Canton, Ohio. She was the wife of the late S. A. Burgert, who retired from the Kansas conference of the Evangelical church in 1919. She was the wife of the late S. A. Burgert, who retired from the Kansas conference of the Evangelical church in 1919. Surviving relatives include three sons, R. O. Burgert, 1321 New Hampshire street; the Rev. C. O. Burgert, Hillsboro, and the Rev. E. O. Burgert, Wichita; four daughters, Miss Erma Burgert, 810 Tennessee street; Mrs. Schreiber, Topeka; Mrs. Jacob Nelson, Leonardville; and Mrs. B. J. Boehringer, Ponca City, Okla.; three brothers, I. H. Hauptflehrer, Wichita; Charles and Albert Treim, Winston, MO; one sister, Mrs. H. E. Bower, Wichita; 27 grand children and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the First Evangelical church with the Rev. Leland H. Young in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. From "Journal of the Kansas Conference 1947"- Mary Elizabeth Burgert was born in Canton, Ohio, January 23, 1867, and died in Topeka, Kansas, June 10, 1946. She was the widow of Rev. Samuel A. Burgert, and the mother of the following ministers and ministers' wives: Mrs. Jacob Nelson, Mrs. R. R. Schreiber, Rev. Chester O. Burgert, Rev. Eran O. Burgert, and Mrs. V. J. Boehringer. Mrs. Burgert was converted at the age of eight and joined the Evangelical Church when eleven. She was a very efficient and consecrated helper to her husband in the work of the ministry for twenty-nine years.
