Smith, 57 years old, 1801 West Broadway, died Monday afternoon at the Jennie Edmundson Memorial hospital from internal injuries received Monday morning a mile north of Missouri Valley, when the team of horses, with which her son-in-law, J. C. Wisecup, who lives two miles north of Missouri Valley, was bringing her to Missouri Valley to return to her home in Council Bluffs, ran away, throwing Mrs. Smith out. The wagon ran over her body, which resulted in her death two hours later. When coming down a hill about a mile north of Missouri Valley, the neckyoke broke, causing the team to run. Mrs. Smith was thrown from the wagon and run over. She was conveyed to the home of her sister, Mrs. J. W. Epperson, in Missouri Valley, who brought the injured woman to Council Bluffs. Mrs. Smith died as she was being carried into the hospital. She is survived by her husband, George Smith, 1801 West Broadway; a son, J. E. Smith of Missouri Valley; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Wisecup, two miles north of Missouri Valley; a brother, James Headlee of Port Angeles, Washington, and three sisters, Mrs. Al Epperson of Port Angeles, Washington, Mrs. Ella Reynolds and Mrs. J. W. Epperson of Missouri Valley. The body was removed to Cutler's funeral home. Burial will be at Missouri Valley. Published in The Evening Nonpareit (Council Bluffs, Iowa) on Tuesday, August 31, 1920. MRS. GEORGE SMITH Mrs. George Smith died while being taken into the Jennie Edmundson hospital at 11:15 last night. She was injured in a runaway Monday morning but it was not thought she was seriously injured until symptoms of internal hemorrhage developed and then she was taken to the hospital at once but she passed away jut as the hospital was reached. Mary Hedley (sic) was born in Des Moines, Iowa, January 4, 1864 and was 56 years of age at the time of her death. She was married to George Smith at St. Joseph, Missouri, on April 10, 1878, and to this union four children were born, Mrs. James Wisecup and Ed, both of this city, and Harry and Stella, deceased. Besides a husband and two children, she is survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also three sisters, Mrs. W. J. Epperson and Mrs. Ellen Reynolds of this city and Mrs. Al Epperson of Port Angeles, Washington, and one brother, James Hedley (sic) , of Port Angeles, Washington. The funeral services will be held from the L. D. S. church Wednesday, at 3 p.m., and burial in Rose Hill cemetery.
