The informant was unaware that she was born in North Carolina. Family Bible records show she was born at the Asa Jones house on Sunday, November 9, 1845, New Berne, NC. Because the Family Bible and her NC baptismal record show her birth year as 1845, despite the information on her grave showing 1847 as her YOB, 1845 is shown as her birth year. The Kent News, Saturday, October 4, 1873 reported: MARRIED at Beaufort, North Carolina, on Sept. 17th, by Rev. S.C. Roberts, CHAS. T. WESTCOTT, Esq., of Chestertown, to MISS MARY J. GUION of Newbern, North Carolina. After her husband's death, she resided at the Winona Apartments on Park Ave in Baltimore until her hospitalization at Union Protestant Hospital where she ultimately died.
