Vange was born on July 14, 1921, to Lawrence Arthur Goodrich and Sarah Amanda Johnston Goodrich in St Paul, MN, when her mother was visiting her friend, Vera Arnold. Vange was born on July 14, 1921, to Lawrence Arthur Goodrich and Sarah Amanda Johnston Goodrich in St Paul, MN, when her mother was visiting her friend, Vera Arnold. Vange and her fraternal twin Vera (Agnes Vera) were born premature and weighed less than two pounds each. She grew up in Grand Forks, ND, until 1928, when she moved with her family to East Grand Fords, MN, where she graduated from high school in 1938. Vange spent a year studying violin and piano with Porter Levi (a friend of the family) before attending the University of North Dakota, graduating in 1943 with a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics, after which she interned at Alameda County Hospital in California. She met the love of her life, Lloyd Wilson, at a USO dance in California. In 1944, they married. While Lloyd was finishing his tour of duty in the Navy during World War II, she returned to East Grand Forks where their first child, L Richard, was born. They lived on the campus of the University of North Dakota while Lloyd obtained his Bachelor of Science degree, and in Greeley, CO, for his Master of Science degree. They moved to Kalispell where Vange taught school and also worked as a caseworker for social services. Their second son, Brent, was born in 1951. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; mother, Sarah Amanda Johnston Goodrich; father, Lawrence Arthur Goodrich; brother, Lawrence Arthur Goodrich; sister, Loretta Goodrich Paulson; and brother, Franklin Harold Goodrich Jr. Vange is survived by her sons, L Richard and Rosie of Rollins, and Brent and Karen Jo of Yuma and Rollins; and sisters, Lorraine Goodrich Miller and Agnes Vera Goodrich Hetland. Memorial services for Vange will be held at 1pm today, March 9, at the Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church, Yuma. [Daily Inter Lake - March 8, 2013]
