Mary Winifred Seaton, daughter of Eli and Sara Seaton, was born north of Malvern in the East Liberty neighborhood May 9, 1900. All of her life was spent in southwest Iowa. She was one of a family of five children. Her father and sister, Winnie, preceded her in death. He mother, Mrs. T. E. McClure of Malvern and three brothers, Paul of Malvern, Yandall of Alliance, Nebraska, and Dau of Des Moines, share with the family in their loss. August 14, 1921, she and Karl Carr were united in marriage. Four children were born to them, Walter, Juanita, Warren, and Ana Lee. Anna Lee tarried by a few days. While in failing health for the past 12 years, Mrs. Carr has maintained her work in the home with the assistance of her daughter, Juanita. She was privileged to have her oldest son graduate from the Tabor High School, see her daughter become a member of the junior class, and her youngest son in the advanced grades in the public school. Mrs. Carr was baptized March 7, 1909, and received into the Methodist Church in East Liberty the same Sunday under the pastorate of the Rev. Peter Jacobs. She was one of a class of 29 who were baptized and a class of 40 who were received into the church as a result of a revival meeting conducted by the pastor. After completing her high school course at Malvern, she taught in the rural schools of Mills County for three years, two years at Hawthorne west of Hillsdale and one in the Sandiland school west of Emerson. Funeral services were held Easter Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Reeves Funeral Home at Tabor, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Jacobs, pastor of the Congregational church. Mrs. Lisle Weatherhead, with Mrs. Harold Kriebs as accompanist, sang two hymns. The casket bearers were Guy Plank, William Stout, Harrison Lybarger, Jacob Kearns, Chas. Kesterson, Claude Kiftison. October 27, 1924 d. April 4, 2014 3. Warren b. 1928 d. 1988
