World War Veteran Dies at St. Paul Jos. Danaher received news on Thursday of the dead of his brother Michael H. at St. Paul. Deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Danaher, early residents of Hanover township, where he was born June 2, 1889. He served his country during the World war, having enlisted at St. Paul in the 7th Battery C, Coast Artillery and the company was one of the first to go across. He never married and is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Michael Ryan and Mrs. Chris Schwartzhoff, Dorchester; James Danaher, Caledonia; Patrick, Detroit, Mich; Sr. Clemicus, Decorah; Mrs. Martin Deviney and Joseph Danaher of Waukon; and Mrs. Herman Schwartzhoff, residing east of town. The remains arrived here Friday and were taken to the home of his brother Joseph. Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church Saturday morning. A solemn high mass was celebrated by Rev. C. C. Drummy, assisted by Rev. O'Connell, Decorah, and Rev. O'Toole of West Ridge. burial was in the family lot in the cemetery at Dorchester, with military honors at the grave. The casket bearers were his six nephews, namely: Marcel Danaher, Harold and Francis Schwartzhoff, Emmet Ryan, Harold Mooney, and John Joe Danaher. 2. Michael Danaher died in St. Paul Blood Clot Fatal to World War Veteran; was Forty-Four Years of Age Michael Danaher, a World War veteran, aged 44 years, died at a St. Paul Hospital on November 16, after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Saturday morning, from St. Patrick's Catholic church. Reverend C. C. Dummy of Waukon, Reverend O'Connell of Decorah, and Reverend O'Toole of West Ridge celebrated solemn high mass. He was buried with military honors beside his parents in the Catholic cemetery at Dorchester. Michael Danaher, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Danaher, was born June 1, 1889, near Dorchester, where he grew to manhood, later going to St. Paul, where he was employed when our boys were called to the front in the World War, he being among the first to enlist. He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Chris Schwartzhoff, Mrs. Herman Schwartzhoff, Mrs. Michael Ryan of Dorchester, Mrs. Martin Deviny of Waukon and Sister Clemicus of Decorah, and three brothers, James of Caledonia, Joseph of Waukon, and Patrick of Detroit. His parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Casket bearers were six nephews, Francis Schwartzhoff, Emmet Ryan, Marcel Danaher, Harold Schwartzhoff, John Joseph Danaher, and Harold Mooney. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were the Misses Celia Burlne (sic-Burke) and Josephine McLaughlin of Minneapolis.
