Description	:	Millie was shot by her husband in front of her two daughters, Louise Bertelson age 10, and Irene Bertelson age 16, from a former marriage to Bert J. Bertelson. Her husband, Walter E. Johnson, then turned the gun on himself. Millie, age 37, died at the scene, and Walter was taken to Mercy Hospital where he later recovered. Walter Johnson recovered and was tried for the murder of his wife. He was found guilty of second degree murder and sentenced to a life term in the state penitentiary Fort Madison. From the 1925 Iowa State Census, Millie was the daughter of Thomas Points & Emma Smitt. She is also listed as Nellie in some records.
