Description	:	On Monday morning, Bertha Meenen Allen passed into eternal sleep at their country home west of Vining, Kansas. Bertha Louise Meenen, daughter of Mr and Mr. L.E. Meenen, was born May 18, 1902 and departed from this life, March 14, 1955 at the age of 51 years, 9 months, and 24 days, after a lingering illness. She received her elementary education in the Riverdale school and Clifton High School, graduating in 1920. Read More	On Monday morning, Bertha Meenen Allen passed into eternal sleep at their country home west of Vining, Kansas. Bertha Louise Meenen, daughter of Mr and Mr. L.E. Meenen, was born May 18, 1902 and departed from this life, March 14, 1955 at the age of 51 years, 9 months, and 24 days, after a lingering illness. She received her elementary education in the Riverdale school and Clifton High School, graduating in 1920. She taught school for one year, then attended the Concordia Business College and graduated in 1924. She followed the teaching profession for several years. The she clerked and kept books for the Banner Variety Store, where her honesty and cheerful manner won her many friends. It was these many friends who helped her through the trying days of her declining health. She helped her mother maintain lovely flower gardens and continued that interest in her own home. She enjoyed remembering the birthdays and anniversaries of her many friends. On March 25, 1951, she was united in marriage to Clarence Allen in Denver, Colorado. They made their home on the farm west of Vining. In her youth, she attended Sunday School regularly, there establishing her faith in God. She was a member of the Clifton Presbyterian Aid Society and also a member of the Amicus Club for many years. Left to mourn her departure are her husband, Clarence Allen, Stepchildren Gerald of Clifton, Mrs. Martin Roberts, of Manhattan, Mrs. Cecil Hiatt of Narka, and Duane, now in the service in Tokyo, Japan; her father, L.D. Meenen, one sister, Mrs. Charles Clevenger (Anna) of Clifton; three brothers, Fritz H of Clay Center, Ludolph and Edward of Clifton; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Services were in the Clifton Presbyterian Church with interment at the Riverdale Cemetery. The Rev, Carlisle A. Schafer officiated.
