Description	:	Louise Alberta Benninga Meenen, daughter of John and Dena Benninga, was born on March 3, 1876 near Leonardville, Kansas. She passed away at the Clay Center hospital February 26, 1950 after a brief illness, at the age of 73 years, 110 months and 26 days. She received her primary education at Mount Meadow school and at an early age was baptized in the Fairview Presbyterian Church. Read More	Louise Alberta Benninga Meenen, daughter of John and Dena Benninga, was born on March 3, 1876 near Leonardville, Kansas. She passed away at the Clay Center hospital February 26, 1950 after a brief illness, at the age of 73 years, 110 months and 26 days. She received her primary education at Mount Meadow school and at an early age was baptized in the Fairview Presbyterian Church. On November 18, 1898, she was united in marriage to Ludolph Edward Meenen at Fairbury, Nebraska. Except for a few of the early years in this community, their married life was spent on the present farm two miles south of Clifton. To their union were born eight children, of whom the five surviving are; Mrs. Anna Clevenger, Bertha, Fritz, Ludolph and Edward Meenen. Those preceding her in death were: Frederick, Helen, and Gertrude. Besides her husband and children, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Sophia Koerber; one brother, Edward Benninga; and one uncle, Henry Heikes. Two sister, Miss Anna Benninga and Mrs. J. H. Meenen, preceded her in death. There are five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a great lover of flowers and her gardens were her pride and joy. She was a good wife and mother, kind and considerate, always sacrificing herself to help others. She will be greatly missed in the Riverdale Community. Memorial services were held Wednesday afternoon, March 1 at two o'clock at the Presbyterian Church in Clifton, with the Rev. Frank Rearick of Clay Center officiating. Mrs. Dayton Lutz, accompanied by F.C.Pfister, sang "In the Garden" and The City Four Square." Burial was in the Riverdale cemetery with Harold Weber; Ernest Weber, Carl Tillinghast, Roy White, Henry Hagen and Herbert Peterson as body Bearers. The presence of relatives and friends and the beautiful flowers were symbols of regard and sympathy. Taken from the Clifton News March 09, 1950
