Read More	Link to husband sent by lest1001 (48184085) ************** Glasco Sun, Feb. 2, 1906, page 2: Obituary Mrs. Myrtella Woodward Drown was born near Glasco, Kansas, Nov. 25, 1878 and died in Elko, Nevada Jan. 20, 1906. Aged 27 years, 1 mo. and 25 days. It is the first break in the family circle. She leaves to mourn her loss, a husband and an infant daughter, a few hours old, father, mother, three sisters and two brothers, besides many relatives and a host of friends. She left Glasco about fourteen months ago, a happy bride, with the good wishes of all of her friends and relatives. Myrtle was a successful teacher in Cloud Co. for a number of years. She was very unselfish, always thinking of others before herself. From a young child she loved the church and Sabbath school and united with the Christian Church of Glasco in her youth, and was a faithful and devoted member while she remained here. When she went to her new home she united with the Presbyterian Church at Elko, Nev., there being no Christian Church at that place. The love and respect that friends and neighbors had for Myrtle was manifested by the flowers and plants that were taken in such profusion to the church, and the lovely tokens of love sent by her absent friends to be placed on the beautiful white casket which so fittingly told of the pure, sweet life that Myrtle had led. Truly the dear ones who mourn her early death can find sweet comfort and consolation in the words of the poet: "Safe in the arms of Jesus, Safe on his gentle breast, There by his love o'reshadowed Sweetly her soul shall rest." Extracts from the Elko, Nevada, Daily Free Press:** With the death of Mrs. Drown we are again impressed with the fact that "death is certain, the hour unseen." Death, like a mighty archer, stands with bow in hand and full quiver, and his arrows are fired at random. A fair young bride full of happiness and love, just entered into the noblest condition of life -- motherhood -- has been stricken down. The ways of God are indeed mysterious, but we must humbly bow to his will. Our only hope now must be that the God who gave life its brief sojourn will support the grief stricken relatives in their hour of sadness....... A noble Christian, a sweet loveable girl, a devoted and happy wife, she endeared herself in all with whom she came in contact, and if each person, today, for whom she did some loving act, would drop a flower on her casket, she would sleep tonight beneath a wilderness of flowers.
