Robert Ruppert officiating. They were preceded by a brief prayer service for relatives at the Hanson Funeral Home. Mrs. Harold Westrum was the soloist and Mrs. Merlin Angstrom, organist. Eva Mae Layton, daughter of Frank and Mary Jane Layton, was born Feb. 17, 1872, at Hook's Point. She was united in marriage to O.F. Angstrom on Sept. 18, 1889, and lived in the Stratford community all her life, with the exception of three years they spent at Cambridge, and the past two years at Boone. She is survived by one son, Dewey, of Des Moines; one granddaughter, Mrs. Richard P. Kern, of Carmel, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Tressie Hook, of Boise, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in November, 1945, and adopted son, George, her parents, and three brothers. Mrs. Angstrom was a member of the Methodist church, where she was very active in the Women's Society of Christian Service, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She and her husband were engaged in restaurant and hotel business as long as their health permitted. Mrs. Angstrom died Monday, noon, June 3, at the Hamilton County Hospital where she had been seriously ill the past six weeks. Boone News Republican June 4, 1957 Mrs. Olaf Angstrom Dies at Stratford Mrs, Olaf Angstrom , 85, of Stratford, died Monday noon, June 3, at the Hamilton County hospital at Webster City, where she had been a patient for the past two months. She had been in ill health for several years. She is survived by a son, Dewey Angstrom of Des Moines. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 5, at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Methodist church at Stratford with the Rev. Robert Ruppert in charge. Burial will be at the Oakwood cemetery with the Hanson Funeral home in charge.
