LeeRoy Eikanger will officiate; burial will be in the South Lead Cemetery. Wara died Saturday, Sept. 15, at Northern Hills General Hospital in Deadwood. A memorial has been established to the Arthritis Foundation or Bethel Lutheran Church in Lead. Born Oct. 7, 1908 at TErraville, he was a son of William and Mary Wara. he lived in Lead nearly all his life, spending the war years in Idaho and Washington state. He married Cecilia Whitter in 1929 at Lead. he worked at Homestake Mining Co. for 39 years, retiring in 1966. Active in the Masonic orders, he received 50-year pins to the Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern STar in 1983. Survivors include his wife of Lead; a son, Doran and four grandhilcren of East Moline, Ill.; a brother, William Wara of St. Helena, Wash.; and a sister, Mrs. Ivan Palmer of Vallejo, Calif.
