Eliza's father was b. in England and her mother in OH. Walter's father was b. in England. Parley operated the Heap & Heap Transfer Company for 35 years in San Bernardino. The San Bernardino Daily Sun (San Bernardino, CA.), P. 21, Col. 1-2 Thu., Mar. 9, 1950 Parley W. Heap, Pioneer City Resident, Dies at Age of 84 Parley W. Heap, 84, widely known native son of San Bernardino and member of a pioneer valley family, died Tuesday night at St. Bernardine's hospital. Mr. Heap's grandparents, William and Hannah Ward Heap, and his father, Parley W. Heap Sr., came to San Bernardino from England in 1852. In 1910 Mr. Heap and his late brother, George, purchased the transfer company which became known as Heap & Heap. Parley Heap remained active in the company until his retirement on Sept. 1, 1942. Mr. Heap resided at 1583 Sierra Way, not far from the old Heap ranch home where he was born. His parents and grandparents were among the valley's earliest farmers and members of the family drilled by hand many of the artesian wells which are still in operation in this area. Mr. Heap's death was brought on by a stroke which he suffered last week. Survivors include two brothers, Undersheriff Harry R. Heap of San Bernardino and Will of Los Angeles; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Kelty of San Bernardino; one son, Leslie L. of Los Angeles; three grandchildren, Edward L. of SanBernardino, Beverly Nay of Victorville and Christie Jean of Los Angeles and one great-grandchild, Barbara Ann Nay of Victorville. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Mark B. Shaw chapel with the Pioneer society and the native Sons of the Golden West officiating. Interment will be held in Mountain View cemetery.
