Obituary Mize—Parris Mize, son of George D. and Susan Caroline Mize, was born March 25, 1889, at Maynardsville [sic], Tenn. The family moved to Kansas when he was but four years of age, he spent most of his life in or near Hiawatha. The last fifteen years he lived in Highland where he was employed by the Ukena brothers. Four years ago his health failed, he had been unable to work since that time. He was united in marriage to Miss Mabel Luster in 1912, to this union one son, Hilton, was born. Several years ago during a revival at Mt. Zion church he did accept Christ but did not unite with any church. About seven weeks before his death he was moved to the home of his sister, Miss Elizabeth Mize near Hiawatha, where he passed away early Monday morning, Dec 26, 1949. He was a kind, loving husband, father, always willing to help in time of need. Owing to his willingness to help, to go out of his way to make certain of work well done, he gained many friends across the years. He is survived by his wife, one son, Hilton, of Kansas City, Kans., a daughter-in-law, Irene; two brothers, Sam, of Centralia, Kans.; Harve, of Fresno, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Fate Smith, Miss Elizabeth Mize, both of Hiawatha.
