Description	:	Patricia "Pat" Louise Beil Keith, 80, of Miles City passed away on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009. On June 4, 1928, Pat was born in Abbottsford, Wis., the daughter of Frank J. and Vera I. Chitwood Beil. Pat moved to Miles City her senior year to care for her grandmother and graduated from Custer County High School in 1946. Pat attended nursing school in Marshfield, Wis., at the St. Joseph School of Nursing and returned to Miles City in 1951, where she was one of the first nurses employed at the new Veterans Affairs Hospital. Chitwood Beil. Pat moved to Miles City her senior year to care for her grandmother and graduated from Custer County High School in 1946. Pat attended nursing school in Marshfield, Wis., at the St. Joseph School of Nursing and returned to Miles City in 1951, where she was one of the first nurses employed at the new Veterans Affairs Hospital. Pat married one of her patients, Charles Ross Keith, in Miles City on Sept. 11, 1954. The couple moved to Ekalaka, where they resided until returning to Miles City in 1998. They made their home in Miles City and during the winter in Yuma, Ariz. In the fall of 2003, they permanently moved to Miles City. Pat enjoyed a long and distinctive career in the health services field. She was a pioneer for her gender as she held many administrative positions such as Hospital and Nursing Home Administrator at Ekalaka's Dahl Memorial Hospital in 1957. She held many positions during her 45-year career such as Director of Nursing, Registered Nurse and Medicaid Surveyor for the Montana/Wyoming Foundation. She served on the Holy Rosary Board of Trustees from 1985 through 1991. Pat's survivors include her husband, Ross Keith of Miles City; her six children, Kristen (Wayne Geisen) Keith of Toledo, Ohio, Lt. Col. Kent (Emily) Keith of Oceanside, Calif., Korey (Greg Nichols) Keith of Glendive and Kara (Mel) Mader, Kurt Keith and KC (Lauri) Keith, all of Miles City; 12 grandchildren, Chase, Zac, Kelcey, Charli, Max, Alex, JT, Raelyn, Cameron, Brett, KD, and Ryan; two brothers Bill Beil of Abbotsford, Wis., and Ben Beil of Nashaua, N.H.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat's parents and sister, Genevieve, preceded her in death. A private service will be held Monday, March 9, 2009.
