Description	:	STRATFORD-Pearl Hoshaw, 90, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Stratford, due to congestive heart failure. Services will be 10:30 a.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Stratford, with the Rev. Dale Schoening officiating. Interment will be in McGuire Bend Cemetery, northwest of Stratford. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Stratford, and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the Church. The family will be present Monday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Survivors include sons, Francis and Roger Hoshaw, both of Stratford, Dean Hoshaw, San Bernardino, Calif., Gary Hoshaw, West Des Moines, and William "Bill" Hoshaw of California; daughters Maxine Silvey and Carolyn Iles, both of Stratford; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and brothers Wayne and Kenneth Neese, both of Webster City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Esther Olson Neese, husband Harvey in 1984, one infant daughter, daughter Shirley Clausen and two grandsons. Pearl Neese was born March 22, 1909, in rural Hamilton County. She married James Harvey Hoshaw in 1927 in Webster City. She was a homemaker and for a period of time was employed in the kitchen at the Stratford School and later at the Dayton Country Club in Dayton. She had been a resident at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since November 1993. She was a member of the McGuire Bend United Brethren Church where she was active in various ladies church organizations.
