Description	:	Permela T. wife of William Robbins was born in Caswell County, N.C. and died in Chester County, Tn. She was the dauther of Henry Burton. Henry Burton entered service in the Revolutionay War in 1777, in Virginia. He served three months as a private in Captain Peter Rogers' Virginia Company, engaged in the vicinity of Portsmouth,Hampton and Norfork. He enlisted in 1778, in North Carolina, served as private in Captain Robert Moore's company, Colonel Lytle's North Carolina regiment, was in a skirmish at a ferry on the Savannah River, was in the battle of Stono, having served nine... Read More	Permela T. wife of William Robbins was born in Caswell County, N.C. and died in Chester County, Tn. She was the dauther of Henry Burton. Henry Burton entered service in the Revolutionay War in 1777, in Virginia. He served three months as a private in Captain Peter Rogers' Virginia Company, engaged in the vicinity of Portsmouth,Hampton and Norfork. He enlisted in 1778, in North Carolina, served as private in Captain Robert Moore's company, Colonel Lytle's North Carolina regiment, was in a skirmish at a ferry on the Savannah River, was in the battle of Stono, having served nine months. After this, he enlisted and served as private in Captain Moses Fontaine's Virginia company, and was in the battle of Camden in Colonel Richardson's regiment. Soon afterwards, he joined Colonel Lee's "Corps of Horse" and was in the battle of Gilford Court House, during which engagement he captured a Hessian and carried him to Colonel Cambell. He was allowed a pension on his application executed March 20, 1823, at which time he resided in Humphreys County, Tenn. He was then aged about sixty-three years. In 1822, the soldier's famiy consisted of his wife, Keziah Farley Burton aged about fifty-nine years. This was taken from The Veterans Administration records in Washington, D.C.
