Grimes was hostess for a family reunion dinner last Sunday at her home near Reserve. Relatives were there from different parts of Missouri. They came in very unexpectedly on Saturday night, late, and when morning came, Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Hunsaker, mother and father of Mrs. Grimes, were greatly surprised, but so much pleased to find the many relatives there, some whom they hadn’t seen for 40 years. The guests and relatives were: Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Cherry of Cameron, Mo., sister of Mrs. P. R. Hunsaker; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hooper, of White Cloud; Mrs. Arthur Monroe and children, of Troy; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hunsaker and boys and Mr. and Mrs. Will Hunsaker and children. Every member of the family still living was present by two grandchildren. This is the first time the family were ever able to meet and a day that had long been looked for, for many years. There were 35 present in all. P. R. Hunsaker is very ill and he seemed cheered to have the family with him. The day will long be remembered by all. THE KANSAS DEMOCRAT (HIAWATHA, KANSAS) 28 NOV. 1912 THU PAGE 1 DEATH OF PETER RILEY HUNSAKER Peter Riley Hunsaker was born in Jackson County, Mo., August 26, 1836, and died at his home 9 miles northeast of Hiawatha Monday night at 10 o’clock. He was 76 years of age and had been in poor health for some time. He is survived by a wife, three daughters and two sons. Mrs. E. Z. Hooper, of White Cloud; Mrs. S. I. Grimes, of Hiawatha; Mrs. A. B. Monroe, of Troy; Charles and W. P. Hunsaker, of Hiawatha. The funeral was held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock from the home. The services were conducted by Rev. S. Belthers, of the Christian church of Reserve.
