Description	:	Francis Lloyd Gale, 73, lifelong Akron resident, and corn shelter operator in the Akron and Westfield area, 40 years, died Wednesday (April 23, 1986) in the Akron city hospital of a long illness. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Catholic church in Akron. The Rev. Timothy Schott officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery under the direction of the Schroeder funeral home. Hoschler post 186, American Legion of Akron conducted graveside military rites. Gale was born Dec. 29, 1912 in Akron to Lawrence and Catherine McManaman Gale. He married Mary Lundberg Feb. 9, 1959 at Akron. He drove a truck for Oscar Baldwin and was a member of the Akron fire department for many years. He also worked for the Lias Brothers operating a cornsheller, before purchasing one from Lias's and starting his own business. He operated a corn shelter for over 40 years in the Akron, Westfield, Chatsworth, Iowa and South Dakota areas, retiring in 1985. He served in the army air corps from 1942 to 1946. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Hoschler American Legion post 186 and Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Donald of Akron; two stepdaughters, Barbara Davis of Carrollton, Tex. and Beverly Allen of Fort Morgan, Colo.; two brothers, Orville Gale and Matthew Gale, both of Akron; five sisters, Agnes Gale and Madeline Burke, both of Sioux City, Marcella Pick of Sergeant Bluff, Gertrude Dimascio of South El Monte, Calif., and Eilene Gibeau of Reno, Nev. and three grandchildren.
