Description	:	Born Saturday, March 25, 1905 at Eden in Lancaster township, Atchison county Kansas, the daughter of Nick and Theresa Enzbrenner. She married Emil Scherer jr. April 29, 1931 at St. Louis church, Good Intent. They were the parents of two sons, Sylvester and Joseph Scherer. They lived the majority of their family life on a farm south of Effingham and were members of St. Ann's Catholic parish. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Scherer worked in Iowa as the housekeeper of father George Spiegalhalter, who had earlier been the parish priest at Effingham. She was active in her church... She was active in her church as well as various organizations at Effingham. She was a member of the Gibson McFarland Auxiliary Post at Effingham. Scherer, 90 died Sept. 6, 1995, at the Toganoxie Nursing Center. Mrs. Scherer was born in Atchison county, where she resided for 71 years before moving to the Westgate Towers in Kansas City for 18 years. She moved to the Tonganoxie Nursing Center in 1994. She had been the housekeeper for Father George Spiegelhalter in Creston, Iowa, for 10 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, its Altar Society and the Go-Getters Senior Citizen Club. She was a volunteer for Cancer Action, Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Scherer, in 1960. She is survived by tow sons, Sylvester Scherer, Basehor,and Joseph Scherer, Olathe; a sister, Elizabeth Erpelding, Atchison; six grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral mass was held at the church with graveside services at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery, Atchison.
