Beebee, the missing brother of H. C. Beebee of this city, was found yesterday afternoon in a little ravine in a cornfield within two miles from the home of his brother, near Beebeetown, Harrison county. It will be recollected that Mr. Beebee was the unfortunate man who was afflicted with temporary aberration, and started from his home in this city to visit his brother in Harrison county, and was taken to the door of his brother's residence at 9 o'clock at night by some neighbors who brought him out from Missouri Valley. It was supposed at the time that he had walked up to the door and not finding it open obeyed a usual whim and stated away without making his presence known, and wandered around until he was lost. There were hundreds of people searching for the missing man, and it is supposed that every place in the fields and woods where the body could be concealed within an area of ten or twenty miles had been searched. The searching parties had gone over the place in which the body was eventually found and examined it carefully. When it was discovered yesterday afternoon it was lying in the little ravine partially covered with water and hidden by grass and weeds. The body was in a condition that an undertaker would call "good" and not in the advanced stage of decay that would naturally be expected. This fact, coupled with the additional one that he was terribly emancipated, gives color to the belief that the poor fellow had been wandering around the country the larger part of the six weeks that have elapsed since he lost his way. It is probable, too, that he lived some time after he fell into the ditch and was too weak to get out. The banks gave evidence that he had made many attempts to raise himself up until he finally fell exhausted and died. Mr. H. C. Beebee left yesterday afternoon immediately after the receipt of the information and will superintend the arrangements for the removal of the body to this city. Omaha Daily Bee, September 29, 1890, Page 6: Council Bluffs - The funeral of R. T. Beebee was held yesterday afternoon from the residence of his brother on Seventh street and Willow avenue. It was very largely attended. Rev. T. J. Mackay officiated. The body was interred in Fairview. The body was in a more advanced stage of decomposition than was at first reported, confirming the belief that he had fallen into the ditch where he was found shortly after leaving his brother's house in Beebeetown.
