Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m.on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. The Rev. Mary Howell of Spangler Chapel will officiate. Walker, 81, of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008, at his home. Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m.on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at the Geo. M. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at the funeral home. Mr. Walker was born on October 7, 1926, in Cedar County, Iowa, the son of Robert J. and Elsie Constance McConnaha Walker. He married Violet Jan Dollman on February 20, 1947, in Muscatine. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1945-1946. He was a former member of the Grange where he was also a Past Master, 7th degree. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and farmed most of his life with Allis Chalmers tractors. He also worked as a manager for Farm and Fleet from 1962-1972. He enjoyed collecting model Allis Chalmers, traveling, gardening and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Violet Walker of Muscatine; two children, Larry G. Walker and wife, Tina, and Marilyn J. McCleary, all of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Valerie Walker, Kory Kies and husband, Tony, Morgan Walker, Brandi Shannon and husband, Damion, Teresa McCleary and Vern McKim; and six great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Kies, Tyler McKim, Bethanie McKim, Cody McKim, Drea Shannon and Bree Shannon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandson, Landon Russell Kies. No relation
