Bob was born in Council Bluffs, on March 27, 1943, to the late Dugan and Dorothy (Kennedy) McNeal. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1961. He served in the US Army National Guard and was united in marriage to Betty (Ranney) on July 1, 1972. Bob was born in Council Bluffs, on March 27, 1943, to the late Dugan and Dorothy (Kennedy) McNeal. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1961. He served in the US Army National Guard and was united in marriage to Betty (Ranney) on July 1, 1972. Bob was an Operating Engineer working out of Locals #234 and #571, and also owned and operated McNeal Construction. Bob worked for American Games and US Government Homeland Security (TSA). In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brother Bill and brother Don and his wife Jan. Survivors include his wife of nearly 49 years, Betty M. McNeal; daughters Mindy L. (Steven) Britten, of McClelland, IA., Michelle R. (Cary) Loeffler, of Box Elder, SD.; 3 granddaughters, Lainey Loeffler, and Allison and Abigail Britten; brother Frank (Roberta) McNeal, of Missouri Valley, IA.; sister-in-law Wanda McNeal, of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service Saturday 10:30 a.m., all at the funeral home. Interment Garner Township Cemetery with military honors by the Kanesville Riders Honor Guard. A luncheon will follow back at the Cutler-O'Neill Community Room. Memorials are suggested to the McClelland Volunteer Fire Department or EveryStep Hospice, or Bob's three granddaughters college fund. Due to COVID-19, the family requests everyone to wear a mask.
