Holderbaum Passes Residents of Chouteau county were shocked and grieved to learn of the sudden passing away of Mrs. Rose Lorine Holderbaum, wife of D. S. Holderbaum, of Highwood, at the St. Clare hospital on Saturday morning, death following shortly after an operation for gallstones. She had undergone former operations which had left adhesions and her condition was such she was unable to withstand the operation. Mrs. Holderbaum was brought to the local hospital a few days prior to the operation. She had been in poor health for some time past. The announcement of her death came as a sudden shock to her hundreds of friends throughout the county. Her passing will be mourned by all who knew her as she was held in highest esteem and loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. She had spent nearly all her life in this section of the state, coming to this state in 1890 and this county in 1899. Rose Lorine Evers was born in Denison, Iowa, May 30, 1885, and departed this life on May 13, 1933, being 47 years, 11 months and 13 days old. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claus H. Evers, pioneer residents of this section. For a number of years she had resided with her family at Highwood, although in early childhood she attended the Fort Benton city schools, being a resident then of this city. Her father served as mayor and in other capacities in this city a number of years ago. She came to Montana with her parents at about the age of five years, and has since resided here. She was united in marriage to D. S. Holderbaum and to this union was born one son, Leo, who with the husband mourns the death of a loving wife and mother. For the past couple years Mrs. Holderbaum has been a mother to a niece of her husband's, Leona Hundley, whose mother perished following a blizzard in Hill county and who has since made her home with them. Mrs. Holderbaum has always taken an active part in community work at Highwood and through that work has become well known to many people as well as through her long residence in the county. Besides the husband and son mentioned, she is survived by six brothers: J. H. Evers, Shonkin; W. E. and Tim Evers, Denton or Everson; Ed Evers, Winnifred; Theo. Evers of Carter; and George Evers of Albany, Ore.; and two sisters, Ida Evers, Albany, Ore., and Mrs. Minnie Bucknell, of Fort Benton; and a very large circle of real friends who will mourn her early passing. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Dan W. Brown, pastor of the Christian church, of this city. Interment will be made in Riverside cemetery. The relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in this their great sorrow.
