Description	:	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor Michael Spurzem: Tractor Tips; Geyser Area Man Killed Geyser - Roy Edward (Eddie) Kirby, 29, prominent Geyser community leader, was killed about 2:30 Tuesday afternoon when the tractor he was driving overturned, crushing him underneath. Kirby was driving the vehicle along a county road about 13 miles north of Geyser when something apparently went wrong with the tractor. Kirby was driving the vehicle along a county road about 13 miles north of Geyser when something apparently went wrong with the tractor. It overturned at the top of a hill, rolling into a culvert with Kirby underneath. The accident occurred about one mile from the family home. He had just completed cutting wood for a neighbor and was on his way home. Kirby, foreman of the Felix Hill estate ranch, one of the Geyser areas largest cattle ranches, was active in community affairs. He was president of the Geyser Community Hall Assn. and a leader in PTA activities. Kirby also worked with youth and promoted a program designed to keep the young people in the community after they completed school. Kirby was born July 16, 1928, in Geyser. He attended Geyser schools and May 28, 1953, married Rosalie (Peggy) Hill. He served two years with the 11th Airborne Division paratroopers and saw service in Japan. He was a member of St. Cyril's Holy Name Society. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Simon Felix, 3 ½ and Arthur Roy 2; a daughter, Catherine Marie, 2 ½ months; three brothers, Joseph and Thomas of Great Falls and Patrick of Stanford; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Petesch, Geyser, and Mrs. Helen Stuart, Mount Vernon, Wash. The body is at O'Connor's Funeral Home in Great Falls and funeral arrangements will be announced later. Printed in the Great Falls Tribune on page 1, December 11, 1957
