Read More	Roy John Grossman Roy John Grossman June 12, 1920 – May 17, 2013 Roy John Grossman, 92, returned to his Father in Heaven on May 17, 2013. Roy was born June 12, 1920, to Wiley Charlie Grossman and Mary Rose Watkins in Grand Junction, Colorado. He grew up in the Glade Park area. On February 10, 1942, he was drafted into the army as a member of K 38th 2nd Battalion Infantry Division. He was wounded and captured as a prisoner of war during the D-Day invasion. After the war, Roy married Mildred Ellen Coward on November 4, 1945, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Their family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on January 1, 1955. Their family was later sealed together forever in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. He was a devoted member of the church, and he served as a ward clerk for almost 27 years. Roy ran a rural route for the United States Postal Service, and he retired in 1977, after working there for 32 years. Roy and Mildred served a mission for the LDS church to Des Moines, Iowa from August 1986 to August 1987. Roy spent his life serving his family and everyone around him. He loved doing woodworking projects for people. His chocolate chip cookies were famous and given to everyone who visited, and his garden was many times bigger than the needs of his family so he could share freely. He is survived by his children, Terrie Grossman, Patricia Bigelow, Vickie (Tony) Beard, and Daryl (Cheryl) Grossman; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and one grandson, who welcomed him home with loving arms. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roy's memory may be made to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Friends may call from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29th, at the LDS Church Stake Center, 2542 G Road. Funeral services will be held in his honor beginning at 11:00 a.m. the same day at the LDS Church Stake Center, followed by burial in the Crown Point Cemetery.
