Willars Sarah Etta Forges(sic) was born near Terre Haute, Indiana, May 30, 1844, and died at the home of her daughter at Long Beach, California June 6, 1921, aged 77 years and 7 days. She moved with her parents to Ashton, Illinois in her early childhood. On November 19, 1865, she was united in marriage to John E. Willars. They resided at Ashton, Illinois until 1881, when, with her husband and family, she moved to Kansas and settled nine miles north east of Glasco, residing on this farm until they moved to Glasco in 1895, making this their home almost continuously from that time. She was preceeded to the great beyond by a husband and three children, two daughters, Mabel Keener and Kiszie Gray, and a son died in infancy. She leaves to mourn her loss, C.F. Willars and Lettie Smyth of Glasco, Shelly Willars of Delphos, Carrie Chritton of Long Beach, California, seven grandchildren and a host of friends. She was a member of the Christian Church in her early life, after moving to Kansas she joined the Methodist Church at Bethe(sic), afterwards transferring her membership to Glasco, and remained an active member to the last. As a mother and wife she had the love and esteem of her family , returning this love in the fullest measure in service, love and loyalty. As a friend she was to be desired, as a neighbor her worth is attested by her friends. Patient during her long illness and suffering, appreciating the service of loving hands, helping others by her self denial, she passed away with confidence in the future and the message of preparedness to meet her God. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. F.N. Stelson, and interment was in Glasco cemetery.
