Klickman and Mrs. Emil Kort sang “Beyond the Sunset,” and “Asleep in Jesus.” Pallbearers were Carl Toepfer, Edwin Toepfer, Frank A. Toepfer, Jr., Wilfred Toepfer, Dean Van Boening and Bernard Post. Burial was at the Blue Hill cemetery. Siebelt E. Johnson, son of Harm and Antjie Mueller Johnson was born in Germany, on October 22, 1874. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith as an infant. He came with his parents to the United States when he was three months old. The family settled in Illinois, after moving to western Kansas, and then to near Glenvil, Nebraska, where he renewed his baptismal vow in the rite of confirmation. On March 15,1898, he was united in marriage to Mary Toepfer, and they settled on a farm near Blue Hill, where he resided until his death. To this union three children were born. In 1934 he lost his eyesight as the result of an accident. Although he lived in a world of darkness, he still retained his interest in the changing world. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 26, 1956, at the age of 82 years, one month, and four days. Mr. Johnson’s death is mourned by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Wenzinger (Emilie) of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Anne Riddle of Bozeman, Montana, and one son, William R. Johnson of Blue Hill; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Blue Hill Leader 12 Dec 1956 Front Page
