Thanks, Nancy (Letcher) Heib. ----------------------------- Note: Jacob Weaver Sr. (born in 1814 in Darke Co. Ohio, and died May 5, 1882 in Berrien Co. MI), is buried in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, in Buchanan, Berrien County Michigan, in Section 17, lot # 23, "possibly with" his first wife Susannah (Ingleright) Weaver (1820-1846). -------- Jacob's 1st wife Susannah died in 1846, and was buried in the Virginian's Burying Ground, on Chippewa Street in Buchanan, MI. ------------ Note: Did the family later move the grave of Jacob Weaver's first wife Susannah (Ingleright) Weaver, from the Virginian's Burying Ground, to the Oak Ridge Cemetery, or did the family just add her name to Jacob's headstone in the Oak Ridge Cemetery? (See photo on right, of the headstone in the Oak Ridge Cemetery). -------- Also buried in this lot (and listed on this headstone), is Orpha (Crum) Weaver (1831-1920), who is Jacob Weaver Sr.'s second wife, whom he married in 1848, and two of their infant children, Charles, and Minnie. Orpha is the daughter of Peter Crum and Mary Nation. ---------------------------- Jacob Sr.'s obituary was published in the "Berrien County Record" newspaper, in Buchanan, MI., on May 11, 1882, page 3. It reads as follows: ------- Died. - Mr. Jacob Weaver [Sr.], a resident of this township for over fourty years, died at his home last Friday, May 5, after a sickness of about two weeks. Age 68 and 1/2 years. Mr. Weaver was an exemplary citizen, and leaves a large circle of friends. ---------------------------- (Susannah's husband Jacob Weaver Sr. was the brother of Anna Weaver, whose second husband was Peter Dragoo, that's why Susannah was first buried in the Dragoo "family" cemetery, known as the "Virginian's Burying Ground"). --------------------------- Jacob Weaver Sr. and his 1st wife Susannah Ingleright had six children: ------- 1. Catherine M. Weaver (1837or38-1859), who married William A. McCoy, on Aug. 28, 1853 in Berrien Co. MI. They had three children. Catherine (Weaver) McCoy was buried in this cemetery. (See the memorial for Catherine McCoy, on this web site). ---------------------------- 2. Fanny Weaver (1839-1864), who married Charles Smith on Jan. 21, 1856. Fanny's husband Charles Smith served in the Civil War, in Co. C, 12th Michigan Infantry, as did Aaron Miller (who married Fanny's sister Mary Eizabeth Weaver ). Fanny (Weaver) Smith was buried in this cemetery. ---------------------------- 3. Anne Weaver, born abt. 1840. ---------------------------- 4. John Weaver, born abt. 1841, died May 15, 1864 in the Civil War. Buried: Chattanooga, Tennessee. ----------------------------- 5. Mary Elizabeth Weaver. b. Oct. 12, 1844. m. # 1. She was the second wife of Aaron Miller (1830-1904) whom she married on Oct. 04, 1862. Aaron Miller served in the Civil War in Company C, of the 12th MI Infantry, as did Charles Smith, the husband of her sister Fanny Weaver. m. # 2. Hiram Newton Mowery, on June 17, 1906, in Buchanan, MI. d. June 24 or 26, 1907. Mary is buried with her first husband Aaron Miller in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan, Berrien Co. MI. (Section 22, Lot # 12). Her name on her death certificate is spelled as Mary E. "Mowrey". Hiram N. Mowery and his first wife Jane are also buried in the Oak Ridge Cemetery (Section 3, Lot 16). ----------------------------- 6. Louisa Susan Weaver. b. May 10, 1845, in Michigan. d. Oct. 15, 1923, in Oklahoma. She married Charles Molyneux Reynolds, on Dec. 15, 1865 in Buchanan, Berrien County Michigan. They lived in Weesaw township, Berrien County Michigan in 1880, and 1900, then in Benton Harbor, Berrien County Michigan in 1910. In 1920, they were living (as mother and father inlaws), with Winford McNaughton, in Lincoln, Siminole County Oklahoma. The children of Louisa S. Weaver and Charles M. Reynolds are: --- (1.) Eva Reynolds. b. Jan. 14, 1868, in Michigan. m. Constantine Banner Hadley, in New Troy, Berrien County Michigan. d. Aug. 10, 1943. Buried: Buffalo, Wyoming. --- (2.) Herman J. Reynolds. b. Aug. 24, 1869, in Buchanan, MI. m. Ella Hellenga, on Sept. 2, 1891, in Berrien Co. MI. d. April 16, 1958. Buried: --- (3.) "Son" Reynolds (Norris?) b. Sept. 5, 1872, in Galien, MI. d. Sept. 11, 1872, in Galien, MI. Buried: --- (4.) Minnie/Winnie Reynolds. b. about 1877. m. Charles Rice, age 26, was married to Winnie Reynolds, age 17, on March 19, 1893, in New Troy, Berrien Co. MI, the son of Jonathan Rice, and Jennie Bouers/Bowers. d. Buried: --- (5.) Grace May Reynolds. b. Dec. 5, 1879, in Weesaw township, Berrien County Michigan. m. James G. Hanover, on July 31, 1898, in Berrien Co. MI, the son of W. J. Hanover and Tillie Devoe. d. Buried: --- (6.) Winford Reynolds. b. 1882, in Michigan. m. Mr. Mcnoughton. --- (7.) John A. Reynolds. b. April 26, 1883, in Weesaw township, Berrien County Michigan. d.
