Description	:	Quaker minister and foreign missionary; daughter of Ephraim Jones and Susanna Dudley Jones.∼Sybil Jones worked in Washington area hospitals during the Civil War, ministering to the wounded. She was in the Capitol when Lincoln was assassinated and paid visits to Lincoln's widow and to Secretary Stanton at the White House in the days immediately following. After reading some of her Journal, one could question this statement. "She knew the truth and you were sure she felt in her own soul and saw with her inward eyes the glories of that light 'never seen on sea or land'. She was indeed a sybil, a holy prophetess. . . . People in the wide world have told me that it was the vital spark from her which had kindled their souls to newness of life, under the power of God." (Pond Meeting Centennial, 1907)
