Tena Engelmann, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jurin Gortmaker, was born August 11, 1886 near Monroe, South Dakota in McCook County. She moved with her family to Hand County in 1905. She was married to John Engelmann on June 26, 1912 and they were the parents of seven children, three of whom died in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death on October 18, 1934. Mr. and Mrs. Engelmann were charter members of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Edwin Eisenbraun, Sylvia, Miller; three sons, John and Paul, Miller and George, Ree heights; four sisters, Mrs. William Bailey, Florence, Billings, Mont., Miss Lena Gortmaker, Miller and Mrs. E.M. Rand, Annie, Humboldt and Mrs. Ben Boekhoff, Arie, Sioux Falls; six brothers, Lear, August and Avert, Miller, Andrew, Huron, John, St. Lawrence and Ben, Monroe, and Nine grandchildren.
