She was preceded in death by her Parents and a Brother-in-Law -- G.W. (Warren) SCOTT. Thelma Lucille FISCHER was born on December 9, 1916, at Tulare County, California near Porterville, the daughter of Karl (sic. Carl) and Lucille Adeline (ANDERSON) FISCHER. After the death of her father, from the Spanish influenza in 1918, the family moved back to Iowa. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1934 at Fairfield, Iowa. Thelma married William (Al) BARRY. The couple moved to Oelwein in the early 1950s. They were later divorced. Thelma lived in Oelwein over forty years. After residing in Iowa City and Stewartville, Minnesota, she moved to the Oelwein Healthcare Center in 2006. Thelma worked as a secretary, bookkeeper and homemaker. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, walking, dancing, chocolate, and spending time with her family.
