Description	:	SON ---- Thomas Arley Sterrett, son of Clark and Mary (Thompson) Sterrett, was born near Denison, Iowa, February 7, 1884. As a child he lived in various Iowa communities, coming to Anthon in 1913. With the exception of two years spent at Quimby he continued to make his home here until his death. He made a home for his parents in their advanced years and, after their deaths, his sister Nellie continued to live with him while he farmed. Read More	SON ---- Thomas Arley Sterrett, son of Clark and Mary (Thompson) Sterrett, was born near Denison, Iowa, February 7, 1884. As a child he lived in various Iowa communities, coming to Anthon in 1913. With the exception of two years spent at Quimby he continued to make his home here until his death. He made a home for his parents in their advanced years and, after their deaths, his sister Nellie continued to live with him while he farmed. A devoted and longtime member of the Anthon I.O.O.F. he was a past noble grand of the organization. Becoming ill while serving on the grand jury in Sioux City, he returned to Anthon that evening but was taken to a Sioux City hospital the next day where he died on Saturday, November 24, 1945, at the age of 61 years. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Adda Vaughan of Lusk, Wyoming, and Nellie Sterrett of Anthon, three brothers, Edward and Walter both of Anthon and William of Correctionville. A brother, Joe, who died in infancy, and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Green and Mrs. Mabel Fitchner, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held in the First Methodist Church in Anthon with Rev. C.B. Wittstruck officiating. .
