Description	:	William Bennett Sterrett was born September 1, 1877, in Ida Co., Iowa, and lived in Crawford County until his marriage to Addie Sharp October 19, 1909, at Pierre, South Dakota. They homesteaded near Pierre, moving to Dow City, Iowa, in 1910 where they farmed. In 1918 they moved to a farm near Anthon where they lived until 1963 when they retired and moved into Anthon. Mrs. Sterrett died in 1966. Mr. Sterrett was a trustee of Kedron Township for a number of years and was also a former rural school director in Kedron Township. Mr. Sterrett, aged 91, passed away... Mr. Sterrett, aged 91, passed away May 27, 1969. Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Anthon with Rev. Ted Sieck officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon, under direction of Walter Funeral Home. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Vivian) Young of Correctionville, two sons, Duane of Worthington, Minnesota, and Gail of Anthon, two sisters, Miss Nellie Sterrett of Anthon and Mrs. Adda Vaughan of Lusk, Wyoming, one brother, Walter Sterrett, Sr. of Anthon, five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. -------------------------
