He had farmed most of his life in Grand Meadow Township, Cherokee County. Mr. Hodge was born July 19, 1895, in Grand Meadow Township to Thomas and Jennie Clark Hodge. Hodge, 83, of rural Pierson died Thursday in a Sioux City hospital. He had farmed most of his life in Grand Meadow Township, Cherokee County. Mr. Hodge was born July 19, 1895, in Grand Meadow Township to Thomas and Jennie Clark Hodge. On February 23, 1921, he married Edna Marie McQueen at Cherokee. She died in 1967. He married Lena Nielsen Hiller February 10, 1968, at Meadow Star Church, rural Washta. Mr. Hodge was a veteran of World War 1; a board member of Grand Meadow schools from 1935 to 1938; and of the Meadow Star Church, serving in several offices. Survivors include his wife; sons, Paul of Washta, and Martin of Pierson; a stepson, Duane Hiller of Washta; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Max (Helen) Campbell of Royal Oak, Michigan; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers. Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at Meadow Star United Methodist Church, rural Washta, with the Rev. Philip W. Cline officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery under the direction of Michaelson Funeral Home, Kingsley. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
