Parsons was born in New Jersey Sept. 15th, 1818. He moved with his family to Kansas in 1873, settling on First Creek, where he resided until he passed from earth Wednesday night, Jan. 26th, 1904, aged 85 years, 4 months and 11 days. He was ever a loving husband and kind father. His funeral services were preached in the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Kerr, pastor. From there his remains were taken to Fairview cemetery and laid to rest to await the sound of the last trumpet that shall call forth all the dead. We join with the many friends in extending our sympathy to the bereaved family. The family take this opportunity of thanking their many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted through the last sickness and death of their loving husband and father. He came to Kansas in 1873 and settled on First Creek, where he lived until the messenger of death entered that home, and called our father to the better land, January 26, 1904. He leaves a wife, one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Price, six sons and a number of (grand)children to mourn his loss.
