McGlothlen, 76, lifelong resident of Wapello County and son of pioneers of this territory, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. H. M. Graham, 517 Ottumwa Street, Saturday afternoon. He was born March 25, 1870, the son of Jacob L. and Mary J. McGlothlen, and grandson of T. D. McGlothlen who came to Iowa from Indiana when Iowa was still a territory. He spent his entire life in this county, with the exception of a few years when he operated a farm he owned in northern Minnesota. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Anna Hargesheimer, Eddyville, Mrs. Clara Hartman, Ellensburg, Washington, Mrs. Corda Turley, Monroe, Washington, and Mrs. Graham. All the sisters were with him at the time of his death. Also surviving are three brothers, Charles H., Monroe, Washington, John L., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Grover C. of Galesburg. Funeral services will be held at Eddysville, Tuesday at the Congregational Church, in charge of the Rev. Mr. Duevan. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Eddyville.
