Description	:	Theressa (sic) May Moss was born September 2, 1867 and departed this life from her home in Nelson, Nebraska, August 24, 1945, lacking nine days of her 78th birthday. She was the daughter of Joshua and Lydia Moss of Frederick, Iowa, and came with her parents and located on a farm 4 1/2 miles northwest of Nelson, in the spring of 1883. They are Charles... Read More	Theressa (sic) May Moss was born September 2, 1867 and departed this life from her home in Nelson, Nebraska, August 24, 1945, lacking nine days of her 78th birthday. She was the daughter of Joshua and Lydia Moss of Frederick, Iowa, and came with her parents and located on a farm 4 1/2 miles northwest of Nelson, in the spring of 1883. On January 4, 1885, she was united in marriage to Walter S. Keith and they went at once to their farm nine miles northwest of Nelson. To this most happy union four children were born. They are Charles James, who passed away in the year 1930; Margaret Ann Peterson of Nelson, Nebr.; William Scott, who died in infancy; and Benjamin Albert of Superior, Nebr. Her husband, Walter S. Keith, passed away April 6, 1897. In the year 1900 on December 26, she was united in marriage to Chris Collins and to this union a son was born, Thomas Collins, now of Grand Island, Nebr. She leaves beside these three children already mentioned, and her loving and kind husband, fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Three of the grand children are serving in the armed forces of the United States. She also leaves two sisters and three brothers. They are: Ada Schufeldt of Hyanns (sic), Elsie Shurtleff, Lincoln, Will Moss, Pauline, John Moss, Nelson; Jim Moss, Chicago; one sister, Laura Cloud; two brothers, George and Dave preceded her in death. She was a member of the court of Honor. She joined the First Presbyterian Church of Nelson under the pastorate of the Rev. W. Byrd Ray. She enjoyed her church and appreciated the program of Christ and good will to men that the Presbyterian church (sic) is seeking to spread all over the World. But long before she was baptized and joined the Church she loved her Lord and sought to do His blessed will. She belonged to that Wonderful Class of people known as the early Pioneer - those people who worked hard and complained little. People who gave their best to make this great state of Nebraska to blossom as the rose. "Toiling, rejoicing, sorrowing!" Yes, but she always kept the upward look. She carried heavy loads with a smile and greeted neighbors with a hearty "Good Morning." She had no time to criticise her neighbors or complain of her lot. She shunned not the struggle, but faced the problemc (sic) of life with a brave heart and a steady tread. She was a devoted and helpful wife, a loving mother to her own children and to her children's children. Her path was as the Just that shineth brighter and brighter until the perfect day. For this good women "Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal." The funeral services were conducted from the First Presbyterian Church of Nelson, conducted by Rev. Clarence V. Powell, assisted by Rev. S.H. Jones of Seward, a former pastor in Nelson. The music was furnished by the choir of this church. The pallbearers were: H.A. Brubaker, Guy Bruce, Ed Troudt, O.P. Porter, Earl Petz and Ed Portwood. The body was tenderly laid to rest in the Nelson cemetery (sic). The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, August 30, 1945; pg. 8
