Description	:	Velma A. Richie, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2009, at Bethany Lu- theran Home, in Council Bluffs. Velma was born on May 13, 1913, to Willis and Anna R. (Guill) Graybill, near Wes- ton, Iowa. She was raised in Weston, along with seven brothers and sisters. She also lived for several years near Hardin, Mo., and attended school in Richmond, Mo. She was married to Brooks Richie on May 14, 1933, in Council Bluffs. Two sons were born to this union, Ronnie Lee and Donald Eugene. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie, in 2002; son, Donald, in 2006; one granddaughter; one great grandson and one great-great grandson; parents; five broth- ers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Delores Richie, of St. Joseph, Mo.; 7 grandchildren, Douglas Richie and wife Linda, of Blackburn, Mo., Daron Richie and wife Kelly, of Benton, Iowa, Rick Richie and wife Treanna, of Story City, Iowa, Ryan Richie and wife Reba, of Clarinda, Iowa, Donna Doty, of Council Bluffs, Donnell Shapland and husband Doug, of Omaha, Neb., and Donnita Johnson, of Omaha; 14 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Visitation, Monday, 10 a.m., at Cutler-O’Neill- Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Cortege will leave fu- neral home for Hazel Dell Cemetery for a graveside service at 11 a.m. Elder, Tim Arnold, officiant.
