Description	:	VELMA BOWMAN SERVICE HELD Funeral services were held today, October 20, at Fusselman-Perry Funeral Home, Plattsmouth, for Velma V. Bowman, 85, of 315 N. Velma Varie Bowman was born June 13, 1893 at Sutton, daughter of Henry H. and Katherine Johnson Smith. The family moved by covered wagon to Red Fern, South Dakota, the following year in 1896. In 1901, the family returned to Nebraska, settling at Hubbell where Velma graduated from High School, in 1913. On May 17, 1916, Velma was married to Max Harry Bowman at Fairbury. In 1922 the couple and two sons moved to Auburn, moving later that year to Plattsmouth where they remained. Mrs. Bowman, a homemaker was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Plattsmouth. She had also been active int he Plattsmouth Flower Club and the Birthday Club. In addition to her husband, Max, Mrs. Bowman is survived by three sons, Doran Bowman and Dale Bowman, both of Plattsmouth, and Donald Bowman of Bellevue; grandsons, Chester, Mike and Charles Bowman; a granddaughter, Linda Gulp; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deloma Clarice.
