Description	:	Vernon Lee Kruse, 70, of Napoleon, Ohio died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born December 17, 1946 in Napoleon, Ohio to the late Alfred & Hilda (Hoops) Kruse. On November 20, 1965 he married Diana Bostelman at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Twp. Vern was a Heavy Equipment Operator for C.F. Gerken and Miller Bros. Construction for over 42 years. He was an avid fan of Cleveland sports teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed fishing and golfing. He loved following his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. He was born December 17, 1946 in Napoleon, Ohio to the late Alfred & Hilda (Hoops) Kruse. On November 20, 1965 he married Diana Bostelman at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Twp. Vern was a Heavy Equipment Operator for C.F. Gerken and Miller Bros. Construction for over 42 years. He was an avid fan of Cleveland sports teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed fishing and golfing. He loved following his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Twp., where he served as a deacon, finance deacon, and was a member of the St. John Lutheran school board. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion, both of Napoleon. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana, children; Ami (Kent) Allison, Todd (Kathy) Kruse, Brian (Ashley) Kruse, Kim (Kirk) Woods, and Nick (Yajaira) Kruse, all of Napoleon, grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Abby, Carlie, Mitchell, Makayla, Jacob, Camren, Lexi, Kaleb, Parker, Brayton, and Chase, and a sister, Judy (Merlin) Elarton of Fayette, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25 at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Twp. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
