Perhaps it was a simple publishing error on the part of the Fairfield Ledger, or from an error from whomever supplied the obituary information to the Fairfield Ledger. A review of the Jefferson county Iowa death record for Vincent shows his name listed as "Vincent W. Mineart". Although not posted to this memorial at this time, headstone photos of many of the burials in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery were compiled by a Jackie Kaska in 2009 and that photo volume was placed in the genealogy collection at the Fairfield Public Library. The joint headstone for Vincent and his second wife Elizabeth clearly shows his full name inscription to read "Vincent William Mineart", thus that is used on this memorial. -------------------- Fairfield Ledger Wed. July 29, 1964 Page 4 Vince Mineart Vincent M. Mineart (sic. middle initial should be "W"), 78, Brighton, died Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County hospital of a heart attack. He had been a patient in the hospital the past 11 days. He was born March 10, 1886 in Jefferson county, the son of Christian and Christina Pohren Mineart. He was married in April, 1910 to Nellie Supalla, who died in May, 1920. On Jan. 30, 1924 he was married to Elizabeth Donaldson. Mineart was a member of the KP lodge and the St. Joseph's church at E. Pleasant Plain. Surviving are his wife and the following children: Mrs. Lucile Godwin of Iowa City, Charles Mineart of Batavia, Howard Mineart of Pleasant Plain, Joe Mineart of Pleasant Plain and Mrs. Marion Humeston of Washington and Robert Mineart of Falls Church, Va.; two brothers, and four sisters, Henry Mineart of Washington and Clarence of Popular Bluffs, Mo., Mrs. Edgar Rotzinger of Brighton, Mrs. Ernest Jacobs of Eldon, Mrs. Peter Schmidt of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Ray McCoy of Gardenia, Calif. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, July 32 at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's church in E. Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Fr. Henry P. Geers in charge. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery. The rosary will be recited in the Gould Funeral home in Brighton on Thursday at 8 p.m.
