Description	:	Violet B. McInnis, 92. of Akron, Iowa, died Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at the Akron Care Center following a brief illness. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 at First Church of Christ in Akron with Rev. Justin May officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation will be on Wed., Nov., 19 from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. Mrs. McInnis was born May 21, 1905. the daughter of John Adam and Laura Alice (Grigsby) Jones near Harris, Iowa in Osceola County, Iowa. Violet moved with her parents to the Akron, Iowa vicinity where she lived most of her life on farms. For a brief period, they lived near Salix, Iowa and Hubbard, Neb. She married Lyle Fay Mclnnis on May 21, 1923 at Le Mars, Iowa. He died March 21, 1957. She was baptized in the First Church of Christ in Akron in August of 1940 where she was a faithful member. She served as President and Treasurer of the C.W.F. also serving as secretary and treasurer of the church board. She continued living on a farm south of Akron working in kitchen and dining areas at Briar Cliff College for three and one-half years: She also worked at cafes and the bowling alley in Akron when she moved into town on April 1, 1964. She had served as an officer in the Senior Citizen Center of Akron. She enjoyed crocheting and tatting. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Lyle Jr., and Barbara McInnis of Westfield, and A. Bruce and Rosalind McInnis of Hawarden; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
