Description	:	She was born April 15, 1922 in Hiawatha the daughter of George W. and Grace M. Howard Miller. She grew up in Hiawatha and graduated from Hiawatha High School. She graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing January 4, 1942. She married Robert Carter January 1, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1956. Virginia managed Los Verdes Palace Country Club in California and owned and operated a turkey ranch in Califorina. She moved back to Hiawatha in 1977 to work at Miller Insurance with her parents whom she eventually bought out. Virginia and her daughter Bev Miller managed Miller Insurance together... She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Hiawatha. Virginia is survived by a granddaughter, Tonda Goodson and husband Johnny, three great-granddaughters, Nicole Lee and husband Adrian, Kristin Goodson, and Megan Goodson, two great-great-grandchildren, Kaiden Lee and Destiny Goodson, sister-in-law, Esther Miller all of Hiawatha, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dana Maselter, a brother, George W. Miller Jr., a sister, Geraldine Swick, and an infant brother, William Miller. Funeral Services are planned for 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha. Rev. Jim Akins will officiate, assisted by Rev. Jean Marie Grabher. Interment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha.
