Read More	*Walter Mulholland Dies in Hot Springs, So. Dak., Hospital* Former Malvern Resident Died March 8; Funeral in Malvern Tuesday Walter A. Mulholland, for many years a resident of Malvern, died early Sunday morning, March 8, In the U. S. Veteran's hospital, Hot Springs, So. Dak., whither he had gone a couple of weeks preceding for treatment for a trouble that had been affecting him for more than a year past. About three years ago Mr. Mulholland was In a railroad wreck and was severely injured and has never been really well since, although his last illness was not a result of these injuries, but rather dated back to some ailment contracted while In the military service during the Spanish-American war. He was brought to Malvern and funeral services were held in the home of his brother, F. E. Mulholland, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Dr. Henry D. White, pastor of the Presbyterian church, and also a comrade of Mr. Mulholland in the be Spanish-American war. Mrs. L. A. Talbott and Mrs. J. H. Beckwith accompanied by Mrs. Zelma Fletcher sang. Burial was made In the Malvern cemetery. The pall bearers were: F. E. Mulholland, Henry Aistrope, Dr. W. M. Hiett, Bruce Boehner, Robert Boehner, and F. A. Mulholland. Walter A. Mulholland was born in Friendville, Nebr., Oct. 15, 1877. He came to Malvern with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Mulholland, when a child and a good part of his life was spent In Malvern and vicinity. He was married March 19, 1902, at Coin, Iowa, to Miss Bess Clara Bently. To them were born three children of whom two sons, Wayne and Lloyd, with the loving wife and one grandson survive him. Mr. Mulholland was for a num-* in Malvern and then for a number of years in Grant. A few years ago they moved to Winner, So. Dak., where he engaged in the produce business, building up a large business in that territory in which he was very active until his health failed. When a young man he united with the Presbyterian church of Malvern. He. enlisted in the U. S. Volunteers and served during the Spanish-American war. He was one of the earlier and active member of the Malvern Fire Department. Wherever he was he made him self an essential part of the community and worked hard to advance its Interests.
